About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Pasadena, Texas, The Ranchito Taqueria & Restaurant offers an authentic Mexican dining experience that delights the senses from the very first bite. Whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast or a satisfying dinner, this vibrant eatery serves up an inviting atmosphere paired with flavors that taste just like home — if not better.

The Ranchito’s menu is a treasure trove of traditional Mexican dishes, bursting with rich, bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Start your meal with their famed Menudo, a comforting, savory soup that’s the perfect embrace on any day. For lovers of barbacoa, the Lengua Ranchera Barbacoa Plate offers tender, slow-cooked beef tongue infused with smoky spices that melt delightfully on the palate. Seafood aficionados will find a special joy in the Mojarra Frita, a crispy fried whole fish that’s flaky and golden, paired beautifully with avocado and grilled veggies.

The kitchen also shines with creative takes on classic favorites: savor the Carne Asada Con Nopales, where succulent grilled beef meets the earthy bite of cactus paddles, or indulge in the crispy yet juicy Milanesa De Pollo for a satisfying crunch. Breakfast options, like the Potato Egg Refried Beans and Cheese Breakfast Tacos or the hearty Steak and Eggs, promise a flavorful start to your day.

Equally impressive is their lineup of lunch and dinner plates, including the vibrant Enchiladas Verdes and spicy Enchiladas A La Chipotle, each served with generous sides of rice and beans that perfectly complement the main dishes. The Ranchito’s Combination plate is a crowd pleaser, offering a crispy ground beef taco, a beef quesadilla, and a cheese enchilada — all for an incredibly affordable price.

The seafood menu is not to be missed, featuring dishes like the Grilled Catfish with Vegetables, grilled to perfection and served with sides that balance each bite. Shrimp lovers will appreciate both the Camaron Empanizados — golden fried or spicy à la diabla — and the refreshing Cocktail De Camaron. The Combo Fajita, a protein-packed plate with chicken, shrimp, beef, and sausage fajitas, rounds out the hearty offerings.

Complement your meal with a selection from their drinks menu featuring classic Mexican brews such as Modelo Especial and Corona, or try their popular Micheladas — a zesty beer cocktail that awakens the palate. The house margaritas, especially the luscious Strawberry Margarita, are the perfect way to unwind and savor the moment.

Visitors consistently praise The Ranchito for its warm, friendly service and cozy yet bustling atmosphere. One guest remarked, “Everything on the menu is delicious,” while another highlighted the home-cooked charm, “Food was delicious and hot... prices are low like LOW low,” capturing the restaurant’s excellent value without compromising on quality. Even on busy days, the staff strives to deliver prompt and attentive service, ensuring every visitor feels like a welcomed guest.

From the first crisp bite of their chips dipped into perfectly spicy Salsa Roja, to the final sip of a refreshing cocktail, The Ranchito Taqueria & Restaurant crafts an experience that goes beyond mere dining — it’s a celebration of tradition, flavor, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re craving familiar comfort or eager to explore classic Mexican flavors, this Pasadena gem invites you to savor every delicious moment.

Totally recommend this place to anyone wanting the home cooked flavor without actually having to do it yourself. Food was delicious and hot. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Get there early and you won't wait to be seated. But still it's worth the wait and the prices are low like LOW low. So don't forget to tip your server appropriately!

Food was great! This was our 2nd visit. Service seems like half way through our visit the waitress no longer was on shift. I understand waitress went home but no one else attended us & nearby tables

Came here on a Friday during lunch time and it was packed. Despite that, my coworkers and I (party of 8) were still able to miraculously get a table. The chips and salsa were served right away and I ended up ordering the tacos al cabron. I was expecting just a regular/mid taco but honestly, I was quite impressed! The meat was juicy and seasoned very well! And there was a lot stuffed inside the taco which is great because some places skimp out on the protein but not here! The rice and beans were also delicious. And with the pido de gallo and guacamole, it’s only $12.99! As for the service, I could only imagine how hectic things were for them but they were attentive and did their best to be as fast as they could. Overall, great spot and can’t wait to come back!

One of my favorite places to eat! The price is unbeatable. Their breakfast tacos are the best in the area, and the service is tasty and awesome. The place was packed to the teeth and we were done in 30 minutes. When i say we drying is fresh as d made from scratch, it is. The salsa ate amazing.

We went during the brunch hour rush on Saturday morning and our wait was only 10 minutes to be seated. The meals were fresh and large. All the employees were fast and friendly.
